Bill Christensen

Bill Christensen, Aquatics Manager & NTN Head Club Coach

Coach Christensen was the Head Coach of the Lobo Aquatic Club previously. There he had several Junior National Championship qualifiers and Top 16 National Swimmers. He has coached numerous State record holders. Bill has also served on the New Mexico Swimming Board as Senior Vice Chairman and Sanctions Chairman. Before coaching for Lobo, Bill was the Head Age Group Coach for the King Aquatic Club in Washington for eight years. There, he had several Top 16 National Swimmers and served in quite a few capacities for Pacific Northwest Swimming. Bill graduated with a BS in Economics and swam for the University of Oregon. Bill is an ASCA Level 4 Coach.

Lynne Gorman

Lynne Gorman, Asst. HS Swim Coach and Pool Operations Manager

Lynne brings a true passion for the sport of swimming, teaching lessons and coaching age group competitors to our team. Lynne swam under Coaches Kevin Murphy and Joe Stocker with the Tulsa Hurricane Swim Club, the dominating USA swim team in Oklahoma during the early 1980’s. She also swam for the Tulsa Washington HS Swim Team. She began teaching swim lessons in college with the NCAA National Youth Sports Program and the Stillwater, Oklahoma YMCA. She progressed to coaching area tri-athletes, the Stillwater Masters and the Stillwater Aquatic Club while attending Oklahoma State University. Lynne graduated in December of 1990 from OSU with a BS in Health and certifications in Education (Health K-12) and Coaching. At this time, Lynne is an ASCA Level 3 certified USA Swimming Coach with 20+ years of experience coaching USA and HS swimming athletes from learn-to-swim to National Age Group Top 16 Swimmers. Prior to coaching in Southlake, Lynne spent nine years, Aug 1999 to July 2008, as the Head Age Group Coach of SwimTulsa, an Assistant Swim Coach for Union HS, and the Site Supervisor and Administrator of the Redskin Learn to Swim Camp SwimAmerica Program. Lynne was voted the Oklahoma Age Group Coach of the Year in 2005 and served the Oklahoma LSC as the Coach Representative and Zone Team Coach. “I am fortunate to have had the opportunity to be mentored by several well respected and experienced coaches and to have worked for great teams in Oklahoma and Texas.” Lynne is happily married to her best friend Greg Gorman. Their family includes Greg’s son, Joshua, of Oklahoma City, and their two boys, JT and Trevor. One cat, Jet, and one dog, Ranger, complete the household.

Carolyn Hryorchuk

Carolyn Hryorchuk, High School Diving Coach

Coach Hryorchuk is a native Texan, raised in Houston. She received her All-Level Physical Education and Dance Degree from Sam Houston State University in 1982. At Virginia Commonwealth University, she earned her Health Degree. She has taught for 18 years, ten of them in Carroll ISD. Coach Hryorchuk has coached middle school volleyball, basketball, and track & field. She was named Volleyball Coach of the Year for three years. Coach Hryorchuk is in her second year as the Dragons Diving Coach. She is USA Diving certified. Last year she had the most divers qualify for Regionals in the history of Carroll HS Diving Program. Coach Hryorchuk was selected as the Boys Regional Coach of the Year for 2006-2007.

Kevin Murphy

Kevin Murphy, NTN Novice Coordinator and Head High School Swim Coach

Coach Murphy has been coaching professionally, all ages, since 1979. He was an Oklahoma State HS Swimming Champion in the 100 breast in 1974 and went on to swim 3 years at Oklahoma State University, earning All-Big Eight honors each year. He was a United State Youth Delegate to the Montreal Olympics in 1976. He spent 6 years in the United State Naval Reserves, from 1977-1983. He earned a BS in Physical Education from the University of Tulsa in 1983. He is a member of ASCA, NISCA and TISCA. He has coached USA Swimming for 34 years, at all levels, and has been a Head HS Swim Coach for 28 years. Coach Murphy holds an ASCA Level 5 HS certification.

Since his arrival in Southlake in August of 2005, Coach Murphy has led the Dragon Men and Women, each, to eight District Championships in a row. The Dragon Boys were State Runners-Up in 2007 and 2010, winning the State 5A Swim/Dive Championship in 2011, 2012 and 2013. The Dragon Girls were 3rd in 2010 and the Texas State Swim/Dive Runners-Up in 2011, finally winning Texas State Titles in 2012 and 2013. In addition, 54 different Dragon swimmers have earned 124 NISCA All-American swimming listings in the last eight HS swim seasons. As the Carroll HS Head Swim Coach, Coach Murphy works closely with the NTN coaches and is the “competitive swimming ambassador” for NTN and the Southlake Swimming Community. In the summers, Coach Murphy is the Head Coach of the 250 member, Timarron Tigersharks Swim Team, and teaches “learn-to-swim” lessons in Timarron. His wife, Patti, is a former Oklahoma University Sooner Cheerleader. He has four daughters, Dru, Cali, Rachel, and Sarah, along with his son, Sean.
